The first stop on our trip will be to the Auckland City Art Gallery to see Public Access by Cut Collective.
'The Cut Collective is six like-minded individuals with varied personal histories in art making. After working on and off together for a number of years they decided to make the ongoing collaboration more permanent by forming the Cut Collective. Public Access was created by the Cut Collective to examine both the opportunities and limitations that an environment, i.e. public vs private, gallery vs street can have on site-specific work. Specifically how the site affects the artists way of working and brings our new considerations and challenges.' from the ACAG website
We will be visiting a selection of Dealer Galleries in the central city - dealer galleries exhibit and sell artworks on a commission basis. Some artists currently exhibiting at dealer galleries are:
- Reuben Paterson at the Gow Langsford Gallery on Lorne Street.
- Andy Tolhurst at the Antoinette Godkin Gallery on Lorne Street.
- Laurence Berry at Orexart Gallery opposite the Auckland Art Gallery.
- Marti Friedlander at FHE galleries opposite the Auckland Art Gallery.
If you have lost your permission slip you can download a copy from the MRGSart wikispace.
